The plot thickens…
Adding to the line-up of suspects for the Diamond thief are Hannah Garthwaite, Dressmaker, who spends long, hard days and nights sewing luxurious clothes for rich families and has just been told by Anne that she has made a mistake with her gown and must make it again. Hannah Garthwaite is out of pocket and very upset – could she have taken the jewels in revenge?
Or could it be James O’ Connall, Gentlemouse, who is new in York and called at Fairfax House at 4 o’clock to be introduced to Gregory and Anne and to have a tour of their magnificent townhouse. He was therefore also at the House on the day of the crime but what could be his motive?
