Donate to Conserve our Collection

Our fundraising focus this spring is our collection of historic books.

Any money we raise will do directly towards specialist conservation treatment and equipment to make sure the collection can be enjoyed by many for years to come.

Our initial target is £2000 to cover the cost of the conservation of two important works:  Iconologia (1699) by Cesare Ripa and architect John Carr’s personal copy of Vitruvius Britannicus (1717) by Colen Campbell Esq. Both require work to the pages and spine to stabilise, consolidate and prevent any further deterioration or losses.

We are extremely grateful for any contributions, no matter how large or small. Thank you for your support.

Fairfax House is an independent museum managed by York Civic Trust, a not-for-profit membership organisation dedicated to protecting and enhancing York’s cultural heritage.
