Dung or Diesel?
Friends of Fairfax House Event
In the early part of the 19th Century there were over a thousand horses housed within the city walls.
Huge amounts of fodder were required but where on earth did all the dung go?
The answer to this and many other queries ,road rage, traffic jams and parking problems, still familiar to us, about transport in Regency York will be explained by Dr. Peter Hogarth who will explain that traffic jams and pollution in the city are not new just smell differently.
Afternoon tea is included.
